Funeral Service for the Late Elder Joshua L. Sands Sr., 88 Years of Lumumba Lane, off Joe Farrington Road will be held on Sunday October 16th, 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Gospel Chapel, Emmanuel Drive, Malcolm Allotment. Pastor Joshua Sands Jr., assisted by other ministers of the Gospel will officiate. Interment will follow in the Western Cemetery, Nassau Street.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Effie Jerelene Sands, his children : Sharlene & Ishmael Lightbourne, Sheryl Sands, Pastor Joshua Sands Jr., Jocelyn & Ben Smith, Jennifer & Kennis McKinney, 11 grandchildren including: Rachel, Sheryl Sands, Kathryn Wilkinson, Jamaal, Jasmine, Jason and Janelle Lightbourne; Kyle and Kaison Smith, Amari and Kennis McKinney; one great grandchild: Nelson Wilkinson; three sisters-in-law Winnifred Blair, Sylvia Sands and Ruth Sands nieces and nephews include: Edward and George Bethel, Beryl Dillet, Senior Justice Anita Allen, Stephanie Dean; Jerome, Edward, Victor and Janet Hutcheson, Mark and Sally Moss, Iris Dean, Valeria Lockhart, Avis Outten, Ednol Smith, Beryl Rolle, Sharron Deal, Elvin Smith, Carlton Blair, Beverly Bain, Barbara Tyson, Beryl Blair, Grace Kemp and Ivan Davis, Richa Sands; Curlene McNeil, Marion Seymour, James, Ernest and Olga Culmer, and a host relatives and friends including The Assemblies of Brethren in the Bahamas, The leadership and members of Emmanuel Gospel Chapel especially Deacon Kirk Smith & family, Deacon Walter Evans and family, Albert Smith and family, Elders Frank Knowles and Pembroke Smith and family, Lifeline Ministries, Bethel Baptist Church, Kingsway Academy, Dr. Judson Eneas, Dr. Joseph Evans and Dr. Dane Bowe; neighbors including: Icelyn Fowler and family, Tempy Adderley, Leroy Archer and family, Tiny Seymour and family, Pat Archer and family, and a host of other colleagues, friends and relatives too numerous to mention.
Friends may pay their last respects at Bethel brothers Morticians, #44 Nassau Street on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
