Five retail banks, the governor of The Central Bank and digital wallet providers will be on hand to interact with residents and businesses in North Eleuthera on November 29 for an interactive session allowing participants to apply for credit and debit cards, open digital wallet accounts or learn more about digital payment solutions.
Sponsored by the Central Bank and the Clearing Banks Association in conjunction with the Eleuthera Chamber of Commerce, the event will be held at the North Eleuthera High School.
Following the successful collaboration with the Eleuthera Chamber’s Digital Currency Expo in July, the campaign’s newest forum aims to empower residents, businesses, and stakeholders in North Eleuthera to embrace the rapidly evolving digital economy by giving them an opportunity to engage directly with representatives from local banks and digital wallet providers.
The North Eleuthera town hall is the fourth in a series produced by The Future of Pay is Digital education campaign aimed at building awareness of digital payment solutions as faster, safer, and greener.
The forum will host keynote speaker, Central Bank Governor, John Rolle along with stakeholders such as Fidelity Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Scotiabank, CIBC, Commonwealth Bank and SunCash.
Attendees can look forward to an engaging program including live demonstrations, educational presentations made by stakeholders and an interactive Q&A session to provide better insight on the different options for conducting payment transactions.
This forum will provide residents with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with banks, share their questions and concerns, and collaborate on promising solutions.
Topics discussed will include the daily use of credit and debit cards, online banking, digital wallets as well as the integration of digital payments within the business community.
The town hall is designed for everyone from small business owners looking for secure electronic payment options to residents eager to simplify their daily transactions and will provide practical tools, education and resources to help Eleutherans take full advantage of available digital banking options.
Aiming to promote the normalization of the use of digital payment solutions that offer faster, more secure ways to manage money, the Future of Pay campaign is a two year-initiative that has already become a valuable resource for queries about digital payment solutions for Bahamians.
The forum is set to begin at 5:30 p.m., is free to attend and will include free refreshments, door prizes and giveaways.
