When Janae Rolle walked through the doors of CIBC Caribbean as a new customer service representative in 2013, she had no idea that just over a decade later, she would be leading the charge in establishing the bank’s Turks and Caicos Islands’ (TCI) Wealth Management services.
At the time, her dreams were grounded in her love for business nurtured during her high school years at St. Augustine’s College, the place she discovered her drive for commerce. Janae’s journey from an entry-level position to a leadership role at CIBC Caribbean is a testament to her unyielding passion, dedication, and the power of seizing opportunities.
"I always had a passion for business," Janae reflected. "In school, I thought I’d become a lawyer, but as I started working at CIBC Caribbean, my interest in helping clients with their financial needs grew stronger. It’s amazing how your path can change when you follow your passion."
Janae’s ascent through the banking world was anything but accidental. Her journey is marked by a series of promotions that reflect her relentless commitment to excellence and client service. From customer service representative to sales specialist, and eventually to business banking manager, Janae’s career has been defined by her ability to adapt, learn, and excel.
"Every role I took on was an opportunity to grow," Janae says. "I’ve always believed in placing our clients’ experiences first, and that mindset, along with my drive to embody the bank’s core values, has guided me through every promotion."
However, it wasn’t just about climbing the corporate ladder for Janae. It was about becoming a well-rounded professional, someone who could lead with empathy, vision, and a deep understanding of the industry.
"When I started in 2013, I didn’t envision becoming a private banker," she admits. "But life has a way of surprising you. What I learned along the way is that success isn’t just about sticking to a plan; it’s about being open to where your passion leads you."
Janae’s academic pursuits further underscore her dedication to her craft. Initially enrolled in a law program at the University of The Bahamas, she shifted her focus to banking and finance after discovering her true calling. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on banking and finance and is now pursuing a master’s in finance from Edinburgh Napier University, with aspirations for a Ph.D. in the future.
Her success isn’t solely due to her own efforts. Janae credits her achievements to God and a strong support system both within and outside the bank.
"I’ve been blessed with incredible mentors and leaders who have guided me throughout my career," she shares. "From management staff to various units within CIBC Caribbean, I’ve always had people who believed in me, even when I didn’t see the potential in myself. They offered mentorship, leadership programs, and sometimes tough love, but it was all to help me grow."
Outside the office, Janae is just as vibrant and dynamic as she is at work. A self-described extrovert with a love for life, she is known for her bubbly personality and infectious energy.
"I love to laugh, spend time with my friends and family, and just enjoy life. I believe in working hard, but I believe in playing hard too. Life is too short not to find joy in every moment."
As Janae prepares to lead CIBC Caribbean’s TCI Wealth Management efforts, she is filled with excitement and gratitude.
"This new role is more than just a job; it’s a chance to make a real impact. I’m looking forward to contributing to the culture and values of the Turks and Caicos Islands, and I’m incredibly thankful for this opportunity."
CIBC Caribbean is proud to have Janae lead their Wealth Management team in Turks and Caicos and is excited to see the mark she will undoubtedly leave on the industry.
