Colina asks 'What's your stress'

Colina Insurance Limited is asking clients and prospects, "What's your stress?", through a novel promotional campaign aimed at ensuring insurance is incorporated in their financial planning.
The company has launched its "Less Stress Makeover" promotion to "raise awareness of the role of insurance in warding off the common stresses associated with financial unpreparedness", according to a release form the company yesterday.
According to Colina's Corporate Communications Officer, Melanie Hutcheson, while the emphasis is on highlighting the need for insurance in financial planning, the company stands to gain important market intelligence from it, too.
"It's a tool for Colina to first and foremost raise awareness of the need for financial planning and its ability to help combat some of the major stressors in our lives.  It's also proving useful for us to hear first-hand accounts of what's stressing people." Hutcheson said.
"At Colina, we know the stress that financial uncertainty can cause.  Our comprehensive life and health insurance plans are proven tools in providing peace of mind in the aftershocks of life's unpredictable events."
The four-week promotion began on Monday of this week.  It allows Bahamian residents over 18 years of age to answer the "What's your stress?" question on the contest's LessStressMakeover.com website.
The grand prize is a four-day/three night stay at Cape Eleuthera Resort & Marina, with round-trip airfare provided courtesy of Bahamasair.  The promotion will also offer weekly prizes to address needs raised in the answer to the question - such as raising college tuition, escalating grocery prices, mounting utility bills, and the struggle to maintain "healthy" savings accounts, according to the company.
There are also daily mini-stress-busters like mini-spa treatments or a movie through the promotion.  Radio listeners will have the chance to win the daily prizes randomly.  The other winning entries will be chosen by seven judges who are representatives from Colina Insurance and one from CFAL.  They will review the entries and determine winners based on the situation described and the impact the prize could have on the winner, according to Hutcheson.
" 'What's your stress?' may be a tongue in cheek catch phrase, but we hope that it will garner enough attention to get people thinking about how financial planning can help alleviate some of the stressors in their lives," says Hutcheson.  "Many of the prizes offer practical solutions to everyday stressors and, in this economy, they can meet a real need.  There are also some feel-good prizes for those who just need a little pick-me up. Ultimately, the goal is to raise awareness of the need to plan for life's what-ifs."
