FREEPORT - Commonwealth Electrical Workers Union president Leslie Lightbourne claims the Grand Bahama Power Company is refusing to pay compensation to an employee who was terminated following a drug test earlier this year.
The employee has worked with the company for 36 years and is entitled to severance pay, Lightbourne insists.
"We have been to the Labour Board on many occasions and they agree that he should be paid his money," he said.
"This is a guy was four years shy of retirement and it seems inhumane to kick him out without paying him his severance package."
