Jimmy's Wines & Spirits is pleased to announce the opening of its newest location on the island of Abaco. After months of planning and three weeks of dedicated renovation work, the new store is now open for business. Known for its top-notch selection of libations, beers, wines, and spirits from around the world, Jimmy's newest location is situated in the heart of Marsh Harbour - in the old Abaco Stereo building on SC Bootle Highway just off Don McKay Boulevard. "We are proud to be expanding our presence in Abaco and serving the community with a second location," said Jimmy’s Assistant GM for Nassau & The Family Islands Diane de Cardenas. “Abaco has been one of our top markets since opening our first location back in 2013” she explained.

According to de Cardenas, the company’s newest location, which officially opened its doors to the public in late April, is part of the company’s expansion and restoration plans which focused on the Northern Bahamas following the devastation of Hurricane Dorian.  “The interior of the original Jimmy’s location on Bay Street was washed completely out by Dorian” de Cardenas recalled, “thankfully though, the building was intact, structurally sound and we have a landlord who was just as eager to rebuild as we were. Together, we were able to complete repair and renovations in record time, reopening that site in just four short months. After Dorian, Abaconians were eager to return home to rebuild their homes and businesses. The return of commerce played a key role in the rebuilding of the area.

Abaco Sales Executive Gerry Summers shared, “The new Jimmy’s location on SC Bootle Highway is another positive outcome of a property owner investing in Abaco’s future through updated and efficient construction post-Hurricane. Move-in ready spaces are still a rarity three years after Dorian. We are happy with the partnership we have here.” The new location is comprised of a beautifully appointed retail store and a warehouse. Trade customers receive their orders from this location via delivery or pick-up.   The new location will be open daily and on Saturdays, closing at 6 pm for the convenience of working customers and tourists.

The new location is already enjoying a steady stream of customer traffic, providing even more retail space to meet the island’s growing demand. The increased demand has also required that the company double its staff complement as well. “We’ve always seen the potential for growth on the island and because of that we felt the timing was right to build on the relationships we’ve built with our customers and of course with our hardworking team of employees,” noted Phillippa Ferguson, Retail Division Supervisor, “It’s been exciting to see the way the island has rebounded post-Dorian and Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits is proud to be part of Abaco’s rebirth.”

Both Jimmy’s locations in Abaco are buy-back locations for the Sands, Sands Light, Sands Radler’s, Bush Crack Light, High Rock Lager, and Strong Back Stout bottles all of which are reusable. Visit www.jwsbahamas.com for more information on the bottle buy-back program and full contact information for both locations.
