CCG Traffic Signal Co. Ltd. expects to have all New Providence traffic signals working by Thursday, excluding 20 intersections being worked on under the New Providence Road Improvement Project, according to CCG project manager Ray McKenzie.

As a part of the national hurricane preparedness plan the majority of the signals were placed on flash mode Wednesday. CCG completed an island-wide assesment of the network Friday.

"We ask the motoring public to be patient and diligent, paticularly at intersections that are dark," said McKenzie yesterday. Of the 10 traffic signals being worked on, McKenzie confirmed that eight were expected to be working by this morning.  The other two intersections need repairs, McKenzie explained.

Rewiring is required at the intersection of John F. Kennedy Drive and Gladstone Road, according to the company. "At Collins Avenue and Fifth Street we lost 2 poles.  These blown poles were cleared down and we plan to reinstate [them] by Thursday," McKenzie said.
