Ministry Assesses Condition of Schools After Hurricane Irene

EDUCATION Minister Desmond Bannister informed The Tribune yesterday that his Ministry is still in the process of determining which, if any, schools affected by Hurricane Irene will be unable to open on time for the beginning of this academic year.

Having had an opportunity to visit a number of Family Islands over the weekend with Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham and his fellow Cabinet colleagues, Minister Bannister said that the ministry still has teams on the ground in various islands doing assessments before any decision will be made.
