THE BAHAMAS ELECTRICITY CORPORATION (BEC) is aiming to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) next week with a private sector renewable energy supplier, although its chairman believes such sources will only account for 10 per cent of the Corporation's energy mix within a decade.
Acknowledging that a previous build/own/operate tender for a proposed waste-to-energy plant on New Providence had "come to a stop", Michael Moss told Tribune Business that BEC was nevertheless still making progress on the renewable energy front.
