Colina Insurance Limited (Colina) supported The BahamasAIDS Foundation’s Fun/Run/Walk/Cycle “A Sunset Move”, in commemoration of World AIDS Day. TheCompany was a silver sponsor of the event and is a legacy partner of the Foundation.
“Colina has a vested interest in the health and wellness of people in The Bahamas,” said Maxine V.Seymour, Director, Corporate Communications, Colina. “We are pleased to continue our partnershipwith the Foundation in their efforts to assist people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.”
Colina’s donation supported the World AIDS Day activities hosted by the Foundation. World AIDS Day iscelebrated on December 1 each year.
“Our employees participated in A Sunset Move. They were excited to walk for such a noteworthy causeand enjoyed the fun race village activities,” said Seymour.
The Fun Run, Walk, Cycle was held on Friday, December 2, 2022 beginning at 700 Wines & Spirits onJohn F. Kennedy Drive. Participants travelled north onto Prospect Ridge Road, along West Bay Street,Saunders Beach, the six legged round about and back to the starting line where the race concluded.There were varying divisions and routes, which included walkers, runners and cyclists.

The AIDS Foundation of The Bahamas was established in 1992 by the Zonta Club of Nassau. The ZontaClub of Nassau was approached by Dr. Perry Gomez, Director of the National AIDS Programme with aview to establishing an NGO (Non-Government Organization) to assist in the fight against HIV/AIDS. In1994 Imperial Life Financial (Colina) became a major partner and pledged to host an annual fund raiser(Red Ribbon Ball) for the Foundation. The first Red Ribbon Ball was held in 1994. Over the years thisevent has become the major fund raiser for the Foundation. In 1997 Imperial Life donated property at23 Delancey Street for the offices of the Foundation.
