New Director of UWI School of Clinical Medicine & Research, Dr. Corrine Sinquee-Brown pays a courtesy call on the Minister of Health and Wellness

Newly appointed Director of the University of the West Indies (UWI) School of Clinical Medicine & Research, The Bahamas --  Dr. Corrine Sinquee-Brown paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Health and Wellness the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville at the Ministry's offices, September 2, 2022.   During her visit, the Director discussed objectives and some of the challenges that the institute faces, including funding for research. She outlined some of the plans she has for the institute and discussed the way forward.  In addition, she highlighted some  of the minor physical improvements that have been undertaken at the Nassau campus. 

Minister Darville congratulated Dr. Sinquee-Brown on her appointment and raised some concerns that currently plagued the country’s healthcare system and the two discussed various strategies that can be implemented to remedy some issues in order to benefit the country and the university.  He also confirmed the government’s commitment to the institute and pointed out that the government looks for value for the money spent to fund students, and will take the necessary steps to meet that objective.  Additionally, he spoke of the government’s plans to expand the country’s nursing facilities and invited Dr. Sinquee-Brown to view the government’s progress.
