After nearly three months, the Bahamas Feeding Network’s team is finally settling in its  new home, thanks to a donation from The Amoury Company. The organization that works to provide over 60,000 meals each month faced a need of its own, a telephone system.

Since its inception, the Bahamas Feeding Network has operated on the support of both public and corporate donors through monetary and in-kind donations for resources and tools. In its most recent appeal, it listed the need for a phone system. The Amoury Company, a solutions-based technology company, heard about the need, stepped in and donated a telephone system with six extensions to assist the organization with its inter-office communications.
“We were honoured when the Bahamas Feeding Network gave us a call for tech support and advisory,” said Amoury Vice President and General Manager Jonathan Cancino. “For an organization that works tirelessly to assist others, we were inspired to make a donation of a cost-efficient solution that best suited their needs for the new Fox Hill headquarters.”

In April, the Bahamas Feeding Network relocated to its new headquarters, just steps away from its old premises at Moseff House, the little Fox Hill cottage where volunteers churned out over one million meals.

“The relocation was an expansion for us,” said the NGO’s Executive Director Lester Ferguson. “As demand in service increased over the years, we recognized both the strengths and limitations of working in tight quarters at the Moseff House location.”

Although the organization’s efforts are consolidated under one roof, the team is spread-out across two floors levels in the new two-story headquarters.

“Since its installation, inter-office communications have been a breeze,” says Ferguson. “It has made our daily communication seamless when it comes to disseminating information amongst our team. I was thrilled when Amoury made their donation because donations like this one assist us in upholding our responsibilities to 97 feeding centres, churches and soup kitchens.”

The Amoury Company’s donation of the phone system is the latest in a series of donations by the 80 yeasrs old company. This year, the company also made donations of surveillance systems to the Bahamas Girl Guides Association and Bahamas Humane Society.
