The body of a black man was found submerged in waters opposite the Tourism Police Station, Bay Street, police reported yesterday.  Police said the discovery was made shortly after 5 a.m.  "As a result, a number of agencies including the defence force, police officers and police marines were dispatched to the scene and the body was retrieved from the water," police at the scene told The Nassau Guardian.

The body was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital where the man was officially pronounced dead by medical personnel.  Police did not release the identity of the deceased yesterday. However, police said foul play is not suspected in connection with the death.  An autopsy wil be performed to determine the exact cause of the man's death.
