THIS IS A NEWS ITEM ON POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE TWO (2) ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE AT 12PM EDT, TUESDAY, 28THJUNE, 2022.

...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS AND GUSTY WINDS BEGINNING TO SPREAD OVER THE SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS...

AT 11:00 AM EDT, THE DISTURBANCE WAS CENTERED NEAR LATITUDE 9.8° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 57.5° WEST OR ABOUT 260 MILES EAST OF TRINIDAD.

THE SYSTEM IS MOVING QUICKLY TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 23 MILES PER HOUR. A WESTWARD OR WEST-NORTHWESTWARD MOTION IS EXPECTED THROUGH THURSDAY. ON THE FORECAST TRACK THE SYSTEM WILL PASS NEAR OR OVER THE SOUTHERN WINDWARD ISLANDS BY TONIGHT AND MOVE OVER THE SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN SEA OR NEAR THE COAST OF VENEZUELA ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS IF THE DISTURBANCE REMAINS OVER WATER.
