SEVEN DAY FORECAST FOR THE BAHAMAS from 12th May to 18th May 2022

Thu, May 12th 2022, 11:06 AM

General Situation: A deep layered low pressure system north of the Bahamas will slowly drift southwestwards today while generating hazardous beaching and boating conditions. Meanwhile, a surface trough extending southwards from the low across the Central Bahamas coupled with a stationary frontal boundary near the Southeast Bahamas will help to generate some showers and thunderstorms across the islands. The low is expected to move into the southeast United States and weaken Friday then shift northwards into the weekend. A trailing trough from the low will lift northwards across the island through the weekend triggering bouts of showers and thunderstorms with breezy conditions spreading westwards across portions of the island chain as the trough exits the area.
