FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA, JULY 27, 2011 – Two major players in the Grand Bahama marketplace have joined forces to create a new powerhouse in the technology and security industry.

Nelson’s Security and Chibah Systems, leading providers in their fields, have closed a deal to merge the two companies, creating Global Tech Systems, to deliver IT solutions, security systems and locksmith services under one roof.

The merger formally comes into effect on August 2, 2011. The move brings together the expertise, experience and resources of the two companies, which will operate from the former Nelson’s location on Queens Highway, near the Yellow Pine Street intersection.

Nelson’s Security was the original security pioneer in Grand Bahama, beginning operation in 1963. Since that time, the company has led the locksmithing and security industry on Grand Bahama. In the early 1990s, Nelson’s Security began the sales and service of electronic security systems and in 2000 began alarm monitoring.

Chibah Systems was established in 2005 and since then has become the leader in IT services, computer repairs, consultation, network solutions, and the sale of all computer needs in Freeport and throughout Grand Bahama island. Chibah Systems recently entered the business of CCTV and alarm monitoring.

The inherent business synergies between these two companies represent a major benefit for their existing clientele and will expand the capabilities of both companies.

A newly renovated showroom, expanded service centre, and enhanced monitoring and response facility are all part of the new Global Tech Systems headquarters.

President of Nelson’s Security Ryan Lowe was excited about the new prospects and the capabilities that the new company will be able to deliver. “Our customers have just gotten a major ‘upgrade’ in service,” Mr Lowe said. “We can now meet many more of their needs at a higher level of quality service than they have enjoyed with us for decades.”

Ty Wells, managing director at Chibah Systems, stated that Global Tech Systems brings together some key resources and steps up efficiencies and response time. “We’ve got the top technicians, customer care and product managers coming together from both companies,” Mr Wells stated. “Besides all of the equipment, facilities and technology, it is the force of all of those people in one place that will set a new standard in our industry.”

Starting August 2, 2011, Global Tech Systems Ltd. will operate from the current Nelson’s Security building located at #9 Queens Highway, Freeport. Telephone contacts will remain 352-8655 and 352-5142.
