FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA, JULY 27, 2011 - Two major players in the Grand Bahama marketplace have joined forces to create a new powerhouse in the technology and security industry. Nelson's Security and Chibah Systems, leading providers in their fields, have closed a deal to merge the two companies, creating Global Tech Systems, to deliver IT solutions, security systems and locksmith services under one roof. The merger formally comes into effect on August 2, 2011. The move brings together the expertise, experience and resources of the two companies, which will operate from the former Nelson's location on Queens Highway, near the Yellow Pine Street intersection. Nelson's Security was the original security pioneer in Grand Bahama, beginning operation in 1963. Since that time, the company has led the locksmithing and security industry on Grand Bahama. In the early 1990s, Nelson's Security began the sales and service of electronic security systems and in 2000 began alarm monitoring. Chibah Systems was established in 2005 and since then has become the leader in IT services, computer repairs, consultation, network solutions, and the sale of all computer needs in Freeport and throughout Grand Bahama island. Chibah Systems recently entered the business of CCTV and alarm monitoring.
