Teen pageant steers focus beyond the crown

THE 17 contestants of Theodore Elyett's Miss Teen Bahamas Beauty Pageant and the organisation's reigning queen Ashlee Bain, spent a portion of their weekend engrossed in two very distinct community service initiatives. Under a mandate to produce teen beauty ambassadors who appreciate and nurture the value of community service; pageant organisers made special arrangements for their summer program participants to visit the Willie Mae Pratt Centre for Girls and they also partnered with the Dolphin Encounters Beach Buddy Program in an effort to protect and preserve the environment.
