Since Caribbean Wines & Spirits (CWS) launched in December of last year, the company has hit the ground running. This holiday season alone, CWS has taken part in a number of holiday events that highlight Bahamian small businesses, including the recent I Is a Bahamian Bey Christmas Popup which took place on Dec 19 at Ty’s Place, as well as the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas’ Christmas Popup hosted on Dec 18. CWS provided complimentary mimosas and wine samples at the respective events, which featured local Bahamian artists, crafters, bakers and other small business owners.

“Caribbean Wines & Spirits is a subsidiary of the Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC), and since we launched we have worked to maintain that same commitment to community, corporate support, and outreach that CBC is known for.” noted Nikia Wells, Communications Marketing Manager for Caribbean Wines & Spirits. “We understand that being a part of the Bahamian business community is much more than simply offering goods and services, and it is our mission to support other Bahamian business owners whenever possible. It is especially vital to support small businesses, who are owned and operated by Bahamians who are bringing their dreams and passions to life.”

Kaché Knowles, owner of I Is A Bahamian Bey, noted that she was grateful for the support of CWS, and added that when Bahamian businesses support each other, they can create something special. “The [popup] was the perfect example of everyone coming together for this simple goal of Buying Bahamian! Everyone had a good time. Both business owners and attendees enjoyed the pop up and the festivities. It’s important to give small Bahamian businesses the opportunity to sell their products and equally as important to give Bahamian consumers the opportunity to reach small Bahamian businesses.”

In addition to the local small business holiday popup events, CWS also supported the Bahamas Alliance for Animal Rights and Kindness’ (BAARK) first Potcake Golf Tournament. The event took place at the Ocean Club Golf Course on Dec 12, and aimed to raise funding for the animal assistance charity.

“The Caribbean Bottling Company and Caribbean Wines & Spirits were extremely proud to join forces to support BAARK” noted Gabriella Suighi, CBC Activations Manager. “CBC has been a longtime supporter of the amazing work that BAARK does each and every day, so we were excited to be able to support their first ever golf tournament, while creating a fun, dynamic experience for attendees.”

Suighi added, “The Caribbean Bottling Company and Caribbean Wines and Spirits are both committed to supporting, nurturing, and advancing the communities that we both serve, and have even more exciting partnerships lined up for the future.”

CWS provided complimentary wine and refreshing Coca-Cola beverages for golfers at the event, which will fund BAARK’s mission to offer spay/neutering services, as well as education projects to reduce the suffering of dogs and cats in The Bahamas.
