NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL STORM WANDA, ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION AT 6 AM, FRIDAY 05TH NOVEMBER 2021.

...WANDA MOVING EAST-SOUTHEASTWARD...

AT 5AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM WANDA WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 41.8°NORTH AND LONGITUDE 38.0° WEST OR ABOUT 640 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE AZORES.

WANDA IS MOVING TOWARD THE EAST-SOUTHEAST NEAR 6 MPH. A TURN TOWARD THE SOUTHEAST IS EXPECTED TODAy, FOLLOWED BY A SOUTHWARD MOTION on SATURDAY.

 

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 50 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  Little change in strength or some slow strengthening is expected through this weekend becoming extratropical in a few days.

THE NEXT NEWS ITEM WILL BE ISSUED AT 12PM

THIS SYSTEM POSES NO THREAT TO THE BAHAMAS.
