NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL STORM PETER ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT NOON SUNDAY 19TH, SEPTEMBER 2021

…DISHEVELED PETER EXPECTED TO PASS NORTH OF THE LESSER ANTILLES EARLY THIS WEEK …

AT11:00 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM PETERWAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 17.6° NORTHAND LONGITUDE 56.5° WEST OR ABOUT 435 MILES EAST OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS.

PETER IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 17 MILES PER HOUR.  ON THE FORECAST TRACK, PETER IS EXPECTED TO PASS WELL TO THE NORTH OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 45 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  SOME SLIGHT WEAKENING IS EXPECTED TONIGHT INTO MONDAY.
