THIS IS A NEWS ITEM ON HURRICANE LARRY ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE AT 12PM EDT, TUESDAY, 7THSEPTEMBER, 2021.

…DANGEROUS SURF AND RIP CURRENTS EXPECTED ALONG MANY ATLANTIC SHORES THIS WEEK DUE TO LARGE SWELLS FROM LARRY…

AT 11:00 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF HURRICANE LARRY WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 24.4° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 55.6° WEST OR 780 MILES SOUTHEAST OF BERMUDA.

LARRY IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 9 MILES PER HOUR AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY. A TURN TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHWEST AND NORTH WITH AN INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED IS FORECAST ON THURSDAY. ON THE FORECAST TRACK THE CENTER OF LARRY SHOULD PASS EAST OF BERMUDA THURSDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 115 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS. GRADUAL WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
