Grand Bahama Power trimming trees to restore power

Fri, Jul 15th 2011, 03:42 PM

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama -- The Grand Bahama Power Company wishes to advise the public that customers located on Inagua and Jamaica Avenue are experiencing interruptions in power due to overgrown trees interfering with the power lines.  Our emergency response crews will have to perform the task of tree-trimming for the next several hours in order to locate and resolve the issue. However, due to the location of some customers' fences that have obstructed the company's right of way, we are unable to get to our equipment and will have to dismantle the obstructing fences in order to restore full power to the affected area. We will however ensure that all fences of impacted customers are reinstated and will follow-up with letters to all affected customers.  We apologize to customers for any inconvenience caused.
