A ridge of high pressure will influence the weather across The Bahamas with very warm temperatures and moderate to fresh breezes through mid-week. The surface ridge is expected to weaken by Wednesday, causing the winds to decrease across the islands. An upper-level trough over the Atlantic will move near the islands and may increase shower chances later in the week especially in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

MONDAY 7th – Weather: Partly sunny, hot and breezy with a few possible passing showers. Mainly fair, warm and breezy at night with a stray shower or two. Small craft operators should exercise caution. Winds: East to Southeast at 15 to 20 knots, gusty at times. Seas: 4 to 7 feet over the ocean, higher in gusts.

TUESDAY 8th – Partly sunny, hot and breezy with the chance of a few passing showers. Mostly fair, warm and breezy with a few showers at night. Small craft operators should exercise caution. Winds: Easterly at 15 to 20 knots. Seas: 4 to 6 feet over the ocean.

WEDNESDAY 9th – Partly cloudy, hot and a bit breezy with isolated showers and a few thunderstorms. Partly cloudy and warm at night with a few stray showers and possible thunderstorms. Small craft operators should exercise caution in the Central and Southeast Bahamas...Expect gusty winds and higher seas in or near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Winds: Easterly at 10 to 15 knots with occasional gusts in the Northwest Bahamas and 15 to 20 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

THURSDAY 10th – Partly cloudy, hot and humid with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Mostly fair and warm at night with the chance of a few showers or thunderstorms. Expect gusty winds and higher seas in or near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Winds: East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas and Easterly at 15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

FRIDAY 11th – Partly sunny, hot and humid with a few showers and possible thunderstorms. Mainly fair and warm at night with a stray shower or two. Expect gusty winds and higher seas in or near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Winds: East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas and 15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

SATURDAY 12th – Partly sunny and hot with the chance of a few stray showers. Fair and warm at night. Winds: East to Southeast at 10 knots or less in the Northwest Bahamas but falling light and variable at times; Easterly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Seas:1 to 3 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas; 2 to 4 feet in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

SUNDAY 13th – Partly sunny and hot with possible isolated showers. Fair and warm at night. Winds: East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas; Northeast to East at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean.
