Scotiabank Bahamas has announced new initiatives designed to help senior citizens to get more comfortable with its digital banking channels.

On April 1, the Bank launched a new information hub which is available at bs.scotiabank.com/digitalseniors which features a series of video-based content and guides specially designed for seniors. Other initiatives planned include one-on-one tutorials in-branch about the use of Scotiabank ABMs, the Scotia Online banking platform, the Scotia Mobile app and much more.

“Across the board, our aim is to make our electronic channels more accessible for everyone, however, we are very keen on reaching our customers who are members of the senior’s community. It is important to us that our customers including seniors know that they have options for safe banking from the safety and convenience of their homes,” shared Na-amah Barker, Director Retail Banking.

Special digital banking representatives have also been assigned to conduct training with seniors when they visit the branch.

According to Barker, the Bank is again prioritizing the use its digital channels as the Bahamas continues to contend with the impact of COVID-19. The move also supports the Bank’s long-term transformation vision for its operations. Two weeks ago, it was announced that the expansion of Scotiabank’s smart ABM network was underway.

“We want our branches to become hubs of financial empowerment, where we can spend more time with our customers to discuss their financial well-being and to educate them on the many products we have that can meet their needs,” she further highlighted.

Scotiabank has been actively promoting the use of alternate banking channels with the aim of reducing the number of times customers need to visit to the branch for routine transactions.
