A ridge high pressure will be the dominant weather feature affecting conditions over The Bahamas for the majority of the week.  A frontal boundary will move just north of the Extreme Northwest Bahamas on Monday and may enhance a few showers.  Mainly stable and very warm conditions will prevail until a strong cold front drift into the Northwest Bahamas late Thursday or early Friday.  Increased cloudiness along with elevated shower and thunderstorm chances are expected with this front.  Very strong winds and high seas behind the front will create hazardous beaching and boating conditions throughout the weekend.  Cooler temperatures will also move over the islands in wake of the front and will last throughout the weekend.

 SUNDAY 28th – Weather: Sunny, warm and breezy with the chance of a few passing showers.  Fair and mild at night.  A Small Craft Caution is in effect for the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Winds: Southeast to South at 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas and East to Southeast at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.  Seas: 3 to 5 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

MONDAY 29th – Partly Sunny and Warm over all areas with isolated showers; breezy in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.  Fair and mild at night.  A Small Craft Caution will remain in effect for the Central and Southeast Bahamas.  Winds: East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas, falling Light and Variable at times; Easterly at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.  Seas:2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

TUESDAY 30th – Partly Sunny, warm and breezy to windy with isolated showers.  Fair and mild at night.  A Small Craft Caution will be in effect for the Northwest and Central Bahamas while a Small Craft Advisory will be in effect for the Southeast Bahamas.  Winds:East to Southeast at 15 to 20 knots in the Northwest and Central Bahamas; Easterly at 15 to 25 knots in the Southeast Bahamas.  Seas:4 to 6 feet over the ocean in the Northwest and Central Bahamas; 5 to 8 feet in the Southeast Bahamas.

WEDNESDAY 31st – Mostly Sunny, warm and breezy to windy with a few showers mainly in the Northwest Bahamas. Fair and mild at night.  A Small Craft Caution will continue for the Northwest and Central Bahamas while Small Craft Advisory will continue for the Southeast Bahamas.  Winds: East to Southeast at 15 to 20 knots in the Northwest and Central Bahamas during the day but decreasing 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas at night; Easterly at 20 to 25 knots in the Southeast Bahamas.  Seas: 4 to 6 feet over the ocean in the Northwest & Central Bahamas, subsiding 2 to 4 feet at night in the Northwest Bahamas; 7 to 10 feet in the Southeast Bahamas.

THURSDAY 1st – Partly Cloudy and warm with isolated showers and a few possible thunderstorms during the day; a bit breezy in the Southeast Bahamas. Variably cloudy and very windy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the Northwest Bahamas at night, in association with a cold front; mainly fair and mild at night, elsewhere in The Bahamas.  Small Craft Operators in the Northwest Bahamas should remain in port by Thursday evening; A Small Craft Caution will be in effect for the Southeast Bahamas during the day.  Winds:Southeast to South at 10 to 15 knots, falling light and variable at times ahead of the front in the Northwest Bahamas, shifting Northerly at 20 to 30 knots behind the front, gusty at times; East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots, falling light & variable at times in the Central Bahamas and Easterly at 15 to 20 knots during the day in the Southeast Bahamas, decreasing 10 to 15 knots at night.  Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean ahead of the front, building 8 to 12 feet behind front in the Northwest Bahamas; 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Central Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Southeast Bahamas during the day, subsiding 2 to 4 feet at night.

 FRIDAY 2nd – Variably Cloudy, cool and very windy with isolated passing showers through night in Northwest and Central Bahamas; Partly Cloudy and warm with isolated showers and a few possible thunderstorms in the Southeast Bahamas.  Small Craft Operators should remain in port in the Northwest and Central Bahamas.  A Small Craft Caution will come into effect for the Southeast Bahamas by evening.   Winds:North to Northeast at 20 to 30 knots over open waters in the Northwest and Central Bahamas; East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Southeast Bahamas, falling light and variable at times during the day; but shifting Northeast to East at 15 to 20 knots by evening.  Seas: 8 to 12 feet over the ocean in the Northwest and Central Bahamas; 2 to 4 feet in the Southeast Bahamas, building 4 to 6 feet by evening.

SATURDAY 3rd – Variably Cloudy, cool and very windy with some possible residual passing showers through tonight.  Small Craft Operators should remain in port.  Winds: Northeast to East at 20 to 25 knots over open waters, gusting to near gale.  Seas: 7 to 10 feet over the ocean, higher in gusts.
