Abaco man is the latest to die from COVID-19

A 58-year-old from Abaco is the latest person to die from COVID-19 in The Bahamas, the Ministry of Health reported. 

In it’s daily dashboard, the ministry said the latest victim died on March 1. 

The total number of COVID deaths in The Bahamas now stands at 181. 

Thirty-nine deaths are classified as non-COVID deaths and 15 deaths are under investigation.

The ministry reported that nine new cases were reported on March 2. 

Five cases were reported on New Providence and four were reported on Grand Bahama. 

Of the new cases, one is a man and eight are women. A total of 12 people are hospitalized.

A total of 8,573 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded since March 2020. 

Active COVID cases stand at 940 and there have been 7,398 cases listed as recovered. 

The ministry said 279 tests were completed on March 2. The Bahamas has conducted a total of 69,003 tests.
