ENKA İnşaat Started Construction Works of Nassau Cruise Port in Bahamas

ENKA began work (March 2020) on the construction of the Nassau Cruise Port development project, to be built in the Bahamas.


Nassau Cruise Port Ltd., which signed an agreement for the operation of the port for 25 years in February of last year. There is also a Turkish company in its consortium. Global Ports Holding (GPH), a subsidiary of Global Investment Holding (GLYHO), is in partnership with 49% - Bahamian Investment Fund (BIF) 49% and Yes Foundation 2% share. In a statement made in May by GLYHO, it was announced that a fund of 130 million dollars was created in the last one of the bond issuance to be used for the project in question.

The project, which is planned to take place in three stages, is currently the first phase of demolition work. In the continuation of demolition works, the second phase of the marine construction works is planned to start in August, and the capacity of the port will be increased for the size and number of cruise ships, with the berth, marina and improvement of the current situation.

The project, which started as of March 2020, is planned to be completed by the sea side construction works in the autumn of 2021 and the terminal building, which includes the third stage land side works, and the food, museum, shopping and entertainment areas in April 2022.

It is known that ENKA has started demolition and preparation works on the site and will start sea construction works as of August / September. The total value of the project is expected to be approximately $ 250 million.
