Over the past several months, many men and women went above and beyond to assist their communities, their customers, and those in need. And, the Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC) wanted to ensure that some of the “Everyday Heroes'' who selflessly helped others, during the COVID-19 pandemic, were able to receive some holiday cheer. Throughout November and December, CBC welcomed the public to nominate persons, via social media, who they felt had supported and uplifted others. Six weekly awardees were then chosen to receive $250 gifts.

Abbott & Linda Armbrister were chosen for their commitment to helping the children of their community stay connected to their studies, while learning remotely. Sabrina Smith of The Children's Emergency Hostel was described as being passionate about caring for children. Annette Lunn was recognized for her work as a disability advocate who provides American Sign Language Interpretations for the deaf, hard of hearing and hearing impaired community.

Shannador Andrews and Khandi Gibson both received a large number of nominations for their ongoing community outreach. And, Constance Wilson, who is a nurse on the Children's Ward of the Princess Margaret Hospital, was described as a wonderful nurse who constantly went “over and beyond the call of duty to make sure all patients are cared for while providing comfort to the parents.”

“There have been so many unsung heroes over the past few months who have focused on the needs of others even before themselves” noted Nikia Wells, CBC Communications Marketing Manager. “We wanted to show those persons, many who have been quietly working behind the scenes, that we are thankful for their ongoing efforts to nurture and support their communities.”
