SEVEN - DAY WEATHER FORECAST 3 rd January to 9 th January 2021

A Ridge of High Pressure continues to extend across the Bahamas and will gradually shift eastwards while weakening. A Cold Front across the Gulf of Mexico will shift east to across Florida late Sunday and enter the Bahamas on Monday. The front will be weakening as it moves into the islands but expect a few showers along the boundary. By Tuesday the front will continue to weaken and dissipate while pulling east of the islands. High Pressure will build across the Bahamas through the week providing pleasant weather. Another front is expected to approach the Bahamas by Friday.

SUNDAY 3RD – Partly sunny and warm with the chance of a few isolated showers during the day…mainly fair and warm at night. A Small Craft Caution will be in effect for the Southeast Bahamas. Winds: Southeast to south at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and East to Southeast at 15 to 20 knots in the Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Southeast Bahamas.

MONDAY 4th – Variable cloudiness and a bit breezy with the chance of a few quick passing showers…becoming mild at night with a stray shower or two possible. Winds: South to Southwest at 10 to 15 knots ahead of the front shifting Northwest to North at 10 to 15 knots behind the front. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean.

TUESDAY 5th – Partly sunny with the slight chance of an isolated shower or two during the day…mainly fair and cool at night. Winds: Northwest to North at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and Variable less than 10 knots in the Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and 3 feet or less in the Southeast Bahamas.

WEDNESDAY 6th – Partly sunny and pleasant during the day…fair and cool at night. Winds: North to Northeast at 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean.

THURSDAY 7th – Partly sunny and pleasant during the day…fair and mild at night. Winds: Northeast to East at 10 to 15 knots during the day becoming East to Southeast at night. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean.

FRIDAY 8th – Partly sunny and warm with the chance of a few isolated showers during the day…turning breezy and warm with a few scattered showers possible by evening/night. A Small Craft Caution will be in effect. Winds:Southeast to South at 15 to 20 knots ahead of the front becoming Northwest to North at 15 to 20 knots behind the front. Seas: 4 to 6 feet over the ocean.

SATURDAY 9th – Partly cloudy and breezy with isolated showers possible during the day…becoming variably cloudy with few showers at night. A Small Craft Caution will be in effect in the Northwest and Central Bahamas. Winds: Northwest to North at 15 to 20 knots in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and Northerly at 10 to 15 knots in the Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 4 to 6 feet over the ocean in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Southeast Bahamas.
