SEVEN DAY WEATHER FORECAST 7th December to 13th December, 2020

A Strong Cold Front will move into the Northwest Bahamas and quickly push into the Southeast Bahamas by Tuesday with showers and thunderstorms mainly along the frontal boundary. Strong southwesterly winds will be ahead of the front with High Pressure building across the islands behind the front providing much cooler conditions and ushering in a drier airmass through most of the week. Another Cold Front is expected near the end of the upcoming weekend into next week.

MONDAY 7th – Increasing cloudiness and breezy to windy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms ahead and along the front…turning breezy and cooler behind the front. A Small Craft Caution will be in effect for the Northwest Bahamas ahead of the front…An Advisory will come into effect behind the front. Winds: Southwesterly at 15 to 20 knots ahead of the front becoming Northwesterly at 20 to 25 knots behind the front in the Northwest Bahamas and Southeast to South at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 4 to 6 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas ahead of the front building 5 to 8 feet behind the front…and 2 to 4 feet in the central and Southeast Bahamas.

TUESDAY 8th – Variably cloudy, breezy and cool with the chance of a few isolated showers mainly across the Southeast Bahamas…turning breezy and chilly at night. A Small Craft Caution will be in effect. Winds: Northwest to North at 15 to 20 knots and gusty at times. Seas: 4 to 7 feet over the ocean higher in gusts.

WEDNESDAY 9th – Partly sunny and cool during the day…fair and chilly at night. Winds: North to Northeast at 10 to 15 knots. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean.

THURSDAY 10th – Partly sunny and pleasant but a bit breezy in the Central and Southeast Bahamas during the day…mainly fair and mild at night. A Small Craft Caution will be in effect in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Winds: Northeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas and Northeast to East at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

FRIDAY 11th – Partly sunny and warm and a bit breezy in the Central and Southeast Bahamas with a few isolated showers possible during the day…breezy and mild at night. A Small Craft Caution will be in effect in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Winds: Easterly at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas and Northeast to East at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

SATURDAY 12th – Partly sunny, warm and breezy with the chance of a few isolated showers during the day…partly cloudy and breezy with a passing shower or two at night. A Small Craft Caution will be in effect.Winds: East to Southeast at 15 to 20 knots. Seas: 4 to 7 feet over the ocean.

SUNDAY 13th – Variably cloudy and warm with a few isolated showers possible during the day…fair with a few passing showers possible at night. Winds: Southeast to South at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and East to Southeast at 15 knots in the Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the Southeast Bahamas.
