Press Release Special Olympics

Mon, Jul 4th 2011, 01:38 AM

As the Bahamas branch of Special Olympics begins its annual fundraising drive with the intent of financing the Bahamas’ athletes in international competitions, corporate partner Ports International joined in their efforts with a presentation of a monetary donation to assist in providing sports and training activities for the intellectually challenged children and adults in our community. Through its sports programs, Special Olympics Bahamas strive to provide long-term benefits to individuals' health, self-esteem and social integration.

In presenting Mr. Forbes with Ports International’s donation, the company’s President and CEO, Carolyn Papai remarked: “We are very pleased to support such an important cause, and we wish our Special Olympics Team Bahamas great success in the 2011 World Summer Games.”

Special Olympics Team Bahamas relies heavily on the contributions of corporate Bahamas to raise funds for their Special Olympics Athletes. The Special Olympics Bahamas representative Stanley Forbes expressed gratitude to Ports International Limited for their generous donation, and noted they were able to send a team of thirty-eight individuals to this year’s Summer World Games in Athens, Greece.
