Around the world, families are faced with decreased income and rising food prices that make it more of a challenge than ever to put wholesome food on the table. Recognizing that Bahamians are also feeling the pinch, KFC Nassau has taken steps to reduce the cost and increase the value in some of its more popular meal deals.

“We have been watching trends, doing market research, listening to our customers and crunching numbers to see how we can do our part to ensure that we continue to play a role in maintaining Bahamian food security,” explained Will Grant, General Manager Restaurants Bahamas, operators of KFC Nassau, “we wanted to find a way that we could share the burden faced by so many.”

KFC Nassau has reduced the price of the most popular two piece dark combo deal by fifty cents, bringing it under the $7(VAT included) mark. The new pricing structure makes it more affordable than other comparable fast food chicken deals and puts it in line with the price of standard sandwich promos.

The combo includes two pieces of dark meat chicken, a small drink, small fries and a biscuit. For customers who enjoy and rely on the budget friendly $5 Fill Up menu, this means that they can now enjoy the addition of a second piece of chicken for just $1.80.

A new three tier pricing system for each of the combos including the Meal Deal and the Big Deal ensures that consumers can get more for less no matter their budget.

The company is quick to point out that this is the new pricing structure and not simply a limited time special.

“For many families, KFC is a treat that gives Mom a much needed break from cooking as she is juggling work, virtual learning and all the other stresses that the COVID-19 pandemic has added to daily life,” said Mr Grant. “For others, KFC has served as an essential part of their ability to afford to feed their family a hot, wholesome, filling meal. It is important for us as a good corporate citizen to do all we can to support both of these types of loyal customers.”

The new price reduction and value added initiative is just one way that KFC Nassau has supported the Bahamian community through the COVID-19 pandemic.

KFC Nassau continues to provide excess high quality food to the local food rescue program Hands for Hunger to ensure that no one in the Bahamas has to go hungry.

Hands for Hunger and its invaluable food donors like KFC Nassau have played an integral role in the country’s National Food Distribution Task Force helping to ensure all families have food on the table despite the economic challenges plaguing so many.
