A ridge of high pressure dominates weather across The Bahamas with moderate to fresh breezes. The ridge will weaken near the weekend, resulting in winds decreasing to gentle to moderate, as Hurricane Delta moves further westward in the Gulf of Mexico. An upper-level low to the south enhances shower activity over the Southeast Bahamas as it shifts westward through Friday. The streaming of tropical moisture across the islands will bring additional showers over the weekend as Hurricane Delta shifts northward and moves further inland over the southern U.S. states.

THURSDAY 8th – Partly sunny, very warm with a few passing showers and chance of a few thunderstorms in the Northwest Bahamas. Partly cloudy, warm and a bit breezy with isolated showers & thunderstorms in the Central & Southeast Bahamas through tonight. Winds: East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas…& Easterly at 15 knots in the Central & Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas…& 3 to 5 feet in the Central & Southeast Bahamas.

FRIDAY 9th –Partly cloudy and very warm with isolated showers and a few thunderstorms. Partly cloudy and warm at night with isolated showers. Winds: East to Southeast at 15 knots for all areas. Seas: 3 to 5 feet over the ocean for all areas.

SATURDAY 10th– Variably cloudy and warm with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms through tonight. Winds: Southeasterly at 10 to 15 knots, gusty at times in the Northwest & Central Bahamas….& Easterly at 10 to 15 knots in the Southeast Bahamas Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean for all areas.

SUNDAY 11th –Partly sunny and very warm with a few showers and thunderstorms. Mainly fair and warm at night with a few stray showers. Winds: Southeast to South at 10 to 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas…& East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas & Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean.

MONDAY 12th – Partly sunny, hot and humid with a few possible showers and thunderstorms. Mostly fair and warm at night with a stray shower or two. Winds: Southeast to South at 10 knots or less in the Northwest Bahamas, becoming Light & Variable at night…Easterly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central & Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 3 feet or less in the Northwest Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the Central & Southeast Bahamas.
