BTC launched the first ever virtual clash by local artistes similar to the renowned Verzuz series created by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. The web series, dubbed ‘For the Culture’ features six local artistes showcasing their top recording hits.

BTC CEO, Garry Sinclair said, “BTC has always been a huge supporter of Bahamian culture and at the forefront of a number of local cultural events.

Our Marketing team put out a poll a few weeks ago asking our fans and followers to vote on whether or not they’d like to see a local version of the international Verzuz styled events.

The response was overwhelmingly positive and here we are today. We believe that this event demonstrates our commitment to the expansion of Bahamian culture and we invite everyone to tune in.”

Six artistes were chosen to engage in the friendly virtual battle. They include Bodine vs. Wendi, Sweet Emily vs. Veronica Bishop, DMAC vs. Gino D. The inaugural show aired on BTC’s Instagram page, ‘MyBTC’ on September 30th, and featured local sensations Bodine & Wendi.

Songbird Wendi said, “I was super excited to be alongside Bodine and I had a great time showcasing my talent to the people of The Bahamas, especially since artistes have not had a platform to connect with our fans because of the pandemic. I was really honored to be chosen by BTC to kick off the first battle in this exciting series.”

Multi-talented vocal artiste, Bodine said, “For the Culture gives local artistes and musicians the opportunity to show off the best of The Bahamas to the world. Viewers experienced a performance like none other from two of the top female artistes in the country across all genres.”

Fans also have a chance to win a smart television by participating in the live top-up and win promotion during the shows. Once customers top up a minimum of $15 during the show, they will be eligible to win.

Upcoming battles will be held on October 14 & 28 and will feature Sweet Emily vs. Veronica Bishop and DMAC vs. Gino D respectively.
