A Stationary Front extending across the Southeast Bahamas generating cloudiness and increased convective activity. Meanwhile, high pressure builds behind the front, supporting moderate to strong winds over the islands through Wednesday. Moderate to large north to northeasterly swells generated from Hurricane Teddy located in the northern Atlantic will support elevated sea heights through Thursday night. The frontal trough is forecast to retrogress northwestward to extend across the Northwest Bahamas on Thursday through the weekend, enhancing deep convection over the islands.

THURSDAY 24th – Variably cloudy, very warm and a bit breezy in the Northwest Bahamas with isolated showers and thunderstorms through tonight. Winds: East to Southeast at 15 to 20 knots in the Northwest Bahamas…and East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots in the Central & Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 4 to 7 feet nearshore but up to 10 feet offshore in Northeast to Northeasterly swells.

FRIDAY 25th –Variably cloudy, very warm and humid with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms through tonight. Winds: East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots but falling light and variable at times in the Northwest Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean but up to 6 feet offshore in subsiding Northeasterly swells.

SATURDAY 26th– Mostly cloudy, very warm and humid with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the Northwest & Central Bahamas. Partly cloudy, hot and humid with a few showers and thunderstorms in the Southeast Bahamas. Winds: East to Southeast at 10 to 15 knots but falling light and variable at times in the Northwest Bahamas. Seas: 2 to 4 feet over the ocean.

SUNDAY 27th –Partly cloudy, hot and humid with isolated showers and thunderstorms mainly in the Northwest Bahamas. Partly sunny, hot and humid with a few showers and possible thunderstorms in the Southeast Bahamas. Mainly fair and warm at night with a few stray showers. Winds: East to Southeast at 10 knots or less in the Northwest & Central Bahamas…& Easterly at 10 to 15 knots in the Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 3 feet or less over the ocean in the Northwest & Central Bahamas…& 2 to 4 feet in the Southeast Bahamas.

MONDAY 28th – Partly cloudy, very warm and humid with isolated showers and thunderstorms mainly in the Extreme Northwest Bahamas. Mostly sunny, hot and humid elsewhere with a few stray showers. Fair and warm at night with a stray shower or two in the Extreme Northwest Bahamas. Winds: Southeast to South at 10 knots or less in the Northwest Bahamas…& East to Southeast at 10 knots or less in the Central & Southeast Bahamas. Seas: 3 feet or less over the ocean for all areas.
