Hurricane season expected

This year's hurricane season is expected to be highly active with 16 storms being predicted between June and November 30. An estimated nine of these are expected to reach hurricane intensity, with five likely to be category three storms, classified by wind speeds in excess of 110mph. High winds of a category three storm and above are powerful enough to tear down trees, telephone poles, electricity cables and send objects flying through the air, posing a major risk to property as damaged windows and roofs can leave buildings and people exposed to the elements in a major storm.
