News Item on Tropical Storm Vicky issued by The Bahamas Department of Meteorology Forecast Office at 12PM, WEDNESDAY, 16 TH SEPTEMBER, 2020.

…VICKY IS WEAKENING…

AT 11:00 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM VICKY WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 21.5° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 34.7° WEST OR 795 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE CABO VERDE ISLANDS.

VICKY IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 9 MILES PER HOUR AND A TURN TOWARD THE WESTWARDMOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH LATE THURSDAY. A WEST-SOUTHWESTWARD MOTION IS FORECAST TO BEGIN BY FRIDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH DISSIPATION.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 40 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS. ADDITIONAL WEAKENING IS FORECAST AND VICKY IS EXPECTED TO BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION THURSDAY, WEAKEN TO REMNANT LOW ON FRIDAY AND DISSIPATE ON SATURDAY.
