News Item on Post-Tropical Cyclone Paulette issued by The Bahamas Department of Meteorology Forecast Office Section at 12:00 PM WEDNESDAY 16 TH, SEPTEMBER 2020.

...PAULETTE BECOMES A STRONG EXTRATROPICAL CYCLONE OVER THE NORTH ATLANTIC...

AT 11:00 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE PAULETTE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 43.3° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 45.2° WEST OR ABOUT 450 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF CAPE RACE NEWFOUNDLAND.

THE POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE IS MOVING TOWARD THE EASTNORTHEAST NEAR 35 MILES PER HOUR AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED THROUGH THURSDAY. AFTERWARD THE CYCLONE IS FORECAST TO SLOW DOWN AND TURN TOWARD THE SOUTHEAST AND SOUTH LATE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 85 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS. FURTHER WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
