Prime Minister Minnis announces a hard-lockdown is no longer recommended for New Providence

Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis said a hard lockdown is no longer recommended for New Providence.

However, he warned that if the data points to the need for additional measures to address community spread, restrictions will be put in place.

Effective Monday, August 31, at 5 a.m. many businesses on New Providence will be able to resume normal activity with appropriate social distancing.

-Restaurants will be permitted to provide outdoor dining, curbside service and delivery service. Both Fish Fry and Potters Cay restaurants will be permitted to provide curbside and delivery service.

-Hardware stores will be permitted to open.

-Individuals will be permitted to exercise between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. in their neighborhoods.

-Beaches will open between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
