“Following the devastation of Hurricane Dorian and in the face of COVID-19, many Bahamian Families are struggling to put food on their tables.

Many are impacted, including children and the elderly, indeed those who are most vulnerable in our communities.

To assist those struggling to feed their families, we decided to produce an affordable meal solution,” explained Showman E-Bistro founder, Master Chef Romero Dorsette.

In May 2020, Showman E-Bistro was launched as a unique food delivery meal concept by Chef Dorsette, alongside a group of leading culinary and food service industry professionals.

Since inception, the company has been providing ‘affordable meal options to Bahamian families’ through delivery of affordable, high-quality meal kits.

Reasonably priced at $120, or approximately $4 per meal, Showman’s kits deliver incredible value. The kit’s ingredients are estimated at a retail value of $170, a savings of $50 for customers, achieved through selective, bulk purchasing and local partnerships.

Showman Meal Kits are professionally curated meal boxes, inclusive of meat and fish, fresh produce, rice and pasta and all the ingredients required to prepare up to seven (7) delicious dinner meals.

The kits are complete with recipes (online), portioned and crafted to feed a family of four nutritious meals for up to 7 days. For the health conscious, Showman has also launched a vegan meal box, packed with a variety of healthy beans, legumes and vegetables.

With a fully functioning website, Showman has made ordering a meal kit quick and convenient. Catering to the ‘stay at home’ reality of COVID life, customers can pay for their kits online and even have it delivered to their homes for a small surcharge. Kits can also be collected from the Showman headquarters on Claridge Road.

Meal kits are travelling all over The Bahamas as Family Island customers can purchase meal kits and have them delivered to the mailboat of their choice. While the kits are curated with small families in mind, single persons are encouraged to team up with friends or family members and share the contents, the good value or their home cooked meal creations!

Through its operations, Showman has been contributing to the local economy in several ways. In addition to engaging and partnering with a team of over 25 local chefs and hospitality professionals that have been impacted by the economic slowdown, Showman has contributed to the local agricultural sector by sourcing its fresh produce directly from local farmers including BAMSI and BAIC.
