The Bahamas Society for Human Resources Management (‘BSHRM’) joined forces with the SHRM Georgia to deliver a comprehensive virtual meeting, under the theme - “The Big Reset, a new way of thinking for HR” via Zoom on Thursday April 16, 2020.

This month’s free session, featured a panel of speakers: James Patterson, President of SHRM Georgia, Dethra Giles, President of Execuprep and local Jermaine Williams, Chief Risk Officer of Commonwealth Bank Ltd.

BSHRM President Nicole Leary explained, “These are truly unprecedented times, but our continued goal is for Human Resources to remain a strategic partner in our respective businesses.

With that in mind, the BSHRM Executive Board lead the charge to lend support to our HR leaders.”

She further added, “BSHRM meetings usually connect New Providence members physically but this virtual meeting allowed members from The Family Islands and partners in The United States to participate from the comforts of their home.”

The virtual meeting, the first of its kind attracted more than 80 participants representing human resources professionals from every industry.

Additionally, panelists brought a wealth of knowledge and participants shared best practices across industries.

Based on the feedback, local chapter plans to continue this new way of engaging partners as BSHRM. Monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month.
