An armed robbery victim, who admitted that he bought an illegal gun to protect himself, was sentenced to nine months in prison on Friday.

Police arrested Everette Johnson, 34, of Pinewood Gardens, at Rupert Dean Lane on April 1 after they found him with a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol loaded with 11 rounds of ammunition.
