AID store destroyed

FIRE destroyed the AID hardware store in Wulff Road yesterday afternoon and threatened homes and businesses nearby as the blaze sparked just after 3pm burned into the night. Around 65 employees on site were quickly evacuated before the fire spread to the rear of the building and flammable paints, chemicals and aerosols caught light. Explosions were heard as flames shot up to 50ft high and thick smoke filled the area, and was visible across the island.
