On Saturday, the resort — the largest private employer in The Bahamas — said it will lay off employees for four weeks, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In a letter to staff yesterday, Audrey Oswell, the resort’s president and managing director, said, “Our people have and always will be our number one priority. It is your future job security and well-being that we are focused on when making the difficult decisions we are faced with today.
