Junior Optimist sailor Joshua Weech showed why he is one of the top young sailors in The Bahamas, claiming the top overall spot at the 2020 KPMG Youth Winter Championships this past weekend. The event was hosted by the Nassau Yacht Club at Montagu Bay. Weech, who represented the Bahamas National Sailing School (BNSS)/Nassau Yacht Club (NYC), repeated as champion in the Optimist class. He finished with six net points, crossing the finish line in first position in his final six races after finishing second in his first race. Apart from the Optimist class, the Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Sunfish and Green Fleet classes were also contested in the seven-race regatta.
