Gino Maycock is the lucky winner of the Caribbean Bottling Company’s (CBC) Vibes for the Islands contest. Maycock walked away with a prize pack that included hotel accommodations and airfare for two, $500 spending cash and tickets to the Vibes for the Islands benefit concert, taking place on March 28 in Miami Fl. The concert will feature reggae icons Protoje and the Indiggnation, Agent Sasco and the Sound Agents along with Dj's Dutty Dex and Richie D, and one hundred percent of the event’s net proceeds will go towards a sustainable rebuilding project benefitting children of the Northern Bahamas, who have been impacted by Hurricane Dorian.

To enter for the chance to win, customers had to purchase a six-pack of Dasani Lime, Berry or White Peach Sparkling Water flavors, and drop their receipt into entry boxes located at New Providence Solomon’s locations, Meat Max and the CBC Front Desk. Maycock’s lucky Dasani Lime purchase was made at Solomon’s Yamacraw. Upon hearing about his win, Maycock noted that he was extremely excited, and it was the first time he had ever won a sweepstakes competition.

The Vibes for the Islands benefit concert will aim to raise resources to assist those still rebuilding, post Dorian. And, since the storm’s passing, CBC has been committed to providing assistance in any way that they can. Nikia Wells, CBC Communications Marketing Manager noted, “We are proud to support initiatives and events that continue to provide assistance to our fellow Bahamians. The Sandals Foundation’s Vibes for the Islands concert is bringing awareness to the ongoing needs of those impacted by the storm, and we are happy to be able to lend our support.”

According to the Sandal’s Foundations website, the group has worked diligently since Dorian’s passing, to provide ‘meals and drinking water to hundreds of people at shelters, supplied first response items, facilitated rescue missions in the most remote areas, and aided in medical responses.” They have “also helped fund emergency transportation of evacuees and aid workers, provided heavy-duty vehicles to help in the rebuilding efforts, distributed school supplies to relocated children” and “provided tablets to support online learning platforms.”
