Teen charged with Long Island murders

A 19-year-old Long Island resident was charged today with the murders of Jane Harding and Melissa Hui. Nathan Harding was also charged with two counts of rape during his initial appearance before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt. The bodies of Hui, 34, and her mother, Jane Harding, 62, were unearthed on Friday on a beach in Salt Pond, Long Island. Nathan Harding was not required to enter a plea during his arraignment. His attorney, Bjorn Ferguson, said that his client had attempted to hurt himself while in custody.
