"Crime is not a Ministry of National Security challenge, crime is a national challenge," said the Hon. Marvin Dames Minister of National Security during a press conference held at the Paul Farquharson Centre by the ministry and the National Neighbourhood Watch Council (NNWC). Minister Dames said the council will focus on crime deterrence and youth violence prevention among other things this year. He said the Ministry of National Security and the NNWC are one, and encouraged the public to join them in the 2nd annual "peace march" on Saturday, February 22 from Windsor Park to Arawak Cay; and at the 1st annual church service at Evangelistic Temple on Sunday, February 23. These among other activities will encourage comradery in the true sense of neighbours. Also pictured is NNWC coordinator Assistant Superintendent of Police Wilton Johnson.
