Insurance is one of those things that has for a long time served as a business woe for many local businessmen and women, as it can be entirely out of reach. Some find insurance a challenge because their team is too small to qualify. Others find premier insurance rather expensive for the individual when not a part of a group or company among other similar scenarios.

The Western New Providence Association (WNPA) charted its course in late 2018 to remedy this precise need, among other local business-related challenges that stood unaddressed. Its pilot offering, the launch of its group health insurance platform, provides its member companies and their employee’s access to otherwise unattainable insurance rates and benefits through the assemblage of each member into a single group proving true its motto; “strength in numbers”.

In a quiet affair on Thursday, January 23rd, 2020, The Association held its official launch at The Old Fort Bay Club. The launch attracted weight-bearing business names, like the Minister of Health, The Hon Dr. Duane Sands; renowned educator, Lisa McCartney; Former Banker and current President of Sunshine Insurance Agents and Brokers Ltd., Mr. Paul McWeeney; Attorney Shannelle Bethell of Mitre Court. Other established businesspeople within our society who form both founding and non-founding members were in attendance.

The audience was addressed by the Minister of Health; The Hon Dr. Duane Sands who spoke firmly on the uniqueness and impact of The WNPA's platform in its ability to form brighter skies for healthcare in our community. Additionally, the platform charts a course for a new era of insurance and business-related offerings and packaging scenarios.

It is made up of a wide variety of businesspersons inclusive of freelancers, graphic designers, construction and development firms, law firms, and utility companies, making up its pool of members. The Association, proven a revolution in business is growing swift, as many begin to catch on to its rewarding showcase of benefits.

Directed by well-known businessmen; Andrew Symonette, Philip Simon, insurance and insurance regulation professional; Patrice Rolle and Premier Health Care Physician Dr. Dean Tsereotopoulos, the Association aims to stimulate the growth of its members by providing the business resources and services needed to bridge the gap faced within its membership pool, thereby promoting a vibrant and prosperous local business community. The Association's many benefits besides its strategic negotiation of the absolute best health care insurance for its members also host its membership directory useful for cross pollution within the organization.
